Should I persue my dream job or do something normal?

I have been tossing around ideas of what to do with my future and some ideas were dental hygene and occupational theripist because they don't require 4 years of college and are very good careers but then I wasn't sure if I really wanted to do it. Now I know a job that I would love to do which is a childrens event planner. I found a company called send in the clowns and was like I can't belive this! I wish I could do something like this everyday! I did alot of research on this and saw alot of people have this kind of buisness. I love children and planing partys I have planned a 12 year old party and it was a blast. I have taken art all my high school years and love to use my creativity. I think this would be my dream job. I started a note book of all my ideas and thought I could start out small doing like face paiting then start doing some partys. Only thing is I live in a small town hardly have money and I am not sure if this career will even make any money. Please help!

Should I persue my dream job or do something normal?
FYI, it takes more than four years to become an Occupational Therapist. Going to school to be a Occupational Therapist is difficult. If you want to plan children's events, then I would suggest starting slow. Since money is an issue, when isn't it, I would suggest holding a regular job and doing events on the side. If you are good at it your cliental should build up eventually leading to a full time position. If you want to do it, then try it. The only way to figure whether something will work or not is to just go for it. If that doesn't work out, then you could always become a Dental Hygienist and work at a children's dentist office, then you could still work with kids. Good luck.
Reply:If you don't pursue your dreams now you'll probably wonder "what would have happened if" all your life.

To pursue what you have in mind you will probably have to move to a larger community, but many of us have done the same.

This can obviously start off as a sideline business, and could grow into something larger, but it will take work and an education. I would recommend a business degree to support this effort.

There are also existing restaurant's that specialize in this type of activity such as Chuck E. Cheese (www.chuckechesse.com), and it's conceivable that you could own a franchise to this type of business.
Reply:Yes pursue your dream you may have resistance and you will be surprised because it will probably be the ones closest to you. But go for it you will live a happier life .I am pursuing mine I am going to be an art therapist and it took me 10 years to realize it so please don't waste to much time
Reply:you could always plan parties on the side.:)
