Should college students be required to attend class?
Many students all around the country spend countless hours working hard on their college studies. Sometimes students get over booked and this can decrease the grades and effort put forth from the student. If students are doing well and are able to keep up in a class that isn’t too difficult but very time consuming, they could take some time out of that and use it for something worthwhile. College students should be responsible and have good enough judgment to decide whether they need to show up for class or not.
There are many good reasons people come up with on why you should be required to attend class. Some people believe it helps the student gain responsibility for when he will have a job. However, part of responsibility is knowing your priorities. If something else more important needs done and it wouldn’t hurt to miss out on a days lecture, time could be put into the more important matter. Others also strongly believe being in class will help grades go up. This can be true for the individual, but if the student isn’t happy and not wanting to be there, most will sleep or be an even more distraction to others trying to learn, thus making the learning process harder for others around them.
The students are paying for the classes they are taking. If they are doing well in a class and need a little extra time to spend on a more difficult class during that time period, they should be able to do so. If they are getting bad grades this means they will be retaking the course over. Meaning the colleges will be gaining the money for the class again. Colleges will financially be rewarded if the students aren’t responsible enough to know when to attend class.
If students are doing well, and need a break for something else, they can use that time to sleep, making their minds fresh, or to study for a more difficult subject. Time’s a valuable thing anymore and if another class is giving a student trouble, it causes you stress throughout the whole day, making things that would normally be easy, difficult. Therefore not attending a class you could possibly take a break from and using that time period to get back on track and organized, can really be a huge help sometimes.
Skipping class several times can add up to make a very bad outcome. If that’s the case hopefully it will help students learn a lesson between having opportunity to have what looks like the easy way out, but doing what’s right and attending class even when not required. Lets face it, for health, organization, or time issues, it’s hard to attend unnecessary classes all the time. Being pressured to attend class all the time will make ill people spread their germs, get people more unnecessary stress, and takes a lot of time. With student’s having to show some responsibility, college students should not be required to attend class.
Revise an Arguement Essay??
Too many words and not enough meaning! Sounds like you are trying to baffle with BS. I think what your essay is stating " let the student decide without penalty". So, that is your opener, next your argument to support; pros and cons - use facts and logic, not guesses. Last conclude, nothing more than a simple summary emphasizing salient points in your argument.
Helpful hint: You may want to do an outline first to ensure your key points are properly placed and your essay flows from sentence to sentence and paragraph to paragraph. Give it to someone to read, if they don't understand it, odds are no one else will either.
One of the things you learn in writing of any kind is to be clear, precise and to the point.
