Work or school?

I have been working since i was 15, but i was on face book and saw that all of my former friends are in college, almost done. I feel like im really missing out. i know i have to work to survive, but at the same time i feel like if i go to school i wont have to struggle for ever. My heart isnt in school though, realistically i'll be working till im dead. But i really want to be succuessful in life. Im 21 is it to late to get in a four year and start life as it should be for a young man my age. PEOPLE I NEED ADVISE!

Work or school?
u could do both if u can handle it or go to a tech school of some sort. stick with both ur dreams and u will survive
Reply:it mgiht be to late for a university but there is always community college people twice ur age start going to college at that age to better there life theres hoope for u , u can go to community college and work at the same time and u can choose what u want to study
Reply:It is NEVER to late to go to school and learn something. My mother is now 91, she owned a successful business and in the years after the war learned to work in a typical male dominated field in electronics and circuitry. She always regreted however that she had not finished high school and so when she was well over 50 she got her GED and took some college classes.

I have a college degree and went back at 51 and got a masters and an school administrators license.

Start small - with a class at a nearby community college. Maybe a speech class, then a basic english class - as you figure out a way to juggle school and work you can take more. You are 21 now - in four years you will only be 25 the choice is yours if you will be a 25 year old with some college or a 25 year old with nothing.
Reply:Hi,

I'm new to this, just joined about five minutes ago.

I can understand where your coming from, even though I did my leaving cert and passed, I never did go on to college and most of my classmates did, it was a very lonely time but then I was working at a young age and I had a good time when I started to work and enjoy getting paid that going to college didn't bother me.

There is the option of doing a course through the college and you don't need to have your leaving cert and then you can progress from there to a third level qualification. Open university may be another option for you and you can still work.

If you really want to do this there are options out there and best of luck with this, it is your future here.

Reply:Is never too late to go to school. I f you set your mind to it I know you can do it. Plus, now there's credit by exam and believe me if you study before the exam you can get the credit and not have to take the course, you will have a great advantage there. Depending on what college you want to go to, they might also exempt you from some classes depending on your SAT and/or ACT scores. My advise is to go back, you'll have a better job and you won't regret it, EVER! also, who said you couldn't work and study at the same time?, if you apply for scholarships and get them to pay for most of your college tuition, then that means that whatever money you get is completely yours. Plus some schools have work study programs where, they work around your class schedule. That's a definate plus!!!
