Throughout history, there have been many books written that have heavily influenced african american literature and those who wish to enrich themselves thru their stories...So here, i have several clues describing a character (they may be a real person or not) from a prominent book in black history..so, without trying to look them up, see if you can identify any..Name the character AND the book he/she is from.
1.) I was born in South Africa during apartheid...I came to the United States on a tennis scholarship, I attended 3 different colleges over the course of one year, I faced alot of adversity coming to America and adjusting to the culture..The story of my life has been seen on Oprah, and read by millions of people worldwide..(HINT: this book was a sequel)..Who Am I? and what book am I from?
2.) I am a very noble slave..in 1830, i escaped slavery by going to Canada where I would help other slaves escape too..During most of my time in slavery, I was overly obsessive in pleasing the white man %26lt;%26lt;%26lt; HINT.. and another Hint, this book created a huge stir, particularly in the south...Who Am I? and what book am I from?
3.) I was a slave (a cook to be exact) on my master's plantation..I had two baby girls who were sold away from me at birth..I had another daughter, who translated, the name means "you stay put". I was married to someone who's had one of the most mentioned slave names in history..Who Am I? and what book am I from?
